My slightly neurotic flu regimen

I don't consider myself a paranoid person in general, but all the news coverage in this years flu season pushed me to paranoia... which led to my slightly neurotic flu regimen.  Okay... the neurotic flu regimen of mine has always been a thing of mine, but the flu season this year certainly made me happy I already had a regimen down.  This is a pic of all of my go-to doTERRA products when sickness is in the air.  Even better, I already have a habit of using these year round to keep that immune system in tip-top shape.  Yes that's a ton of stuff to just pump my body full of.  But when my husband is on the couch with piles of blankets, freezing with chills and asking me to turn up the heat in our 70 degree home... it's in these moments I appreciate my neurotic tendencies more. 😂 Now I'm not necessarily taking these all at once (unless I do get sick, in which case it's an oil frenzy over here!).  Lets break down what's going on in that photo.  The big 3 bottles are dotTERRA's Life Long Vitality (LLV) vitamins.  I take those daily.  Why take a multivitamin daily?  I'll refer you to an older post of mine here.  Why take doTERRA's LLV?  Check out this brochure.  Yes they're pricey for a multivitamin, but you get you what pay for in my opinion and I don't want to roll the dice on something like a multivitamin.  I've noticed a huge difference in my health just from adding these to my daily diet.  I don't get sick nearly as often, and I have more energy.  The Lemon oil is one I add to my water daily.  I like the way it makes my water more refreshing, and more importantly, it cleanses my insides (yeah gross, but yay for cleaner insides!).  The smaller bottle of supplements is Onguard+.  It's the Onguard blend plus a couple other cool oils, and made into a convenient softgel. I've always got these packed in my purse, and any time I travel I take them daily, twice a day.  The other 3 bottles of oil: Onguard, Melaleuca, and Oregano - all three are great to use in what some of us affectionately call the "flu bomb".  The gist of it entails adding several drops of each oil in a veggie capsule at the moment you start to feel sick, and take several times a day for a few days until symptoms are gone.  Everyone's protocol varies from person to person, but that's how I roll.  So while I cannot prevent getting sick, I can say this neurotic regimen of mine has definitely reduced how often I get sick, and how severe I get sick.  I managed to skate by this flu season with what I'd call just a minor cold (minor thanks to my neurotic regimen!) while my husband took weeks to finally get over the flu.  A man who rarely gets sick.  Why wasn't he on my crazy regimen??  It used to be a periodic argument in this house. But after this last flu season, he's finally seen the light and is now taking the LLV daily.  😁 Hard to argue when you're sick with the flu and your wife, who used to normally be the sick one, goes out to get a pedicure with not so much as a sniffle.

Restless legs anyone?

Lucky for me I've never had to deal with the creepy crawly feeling or whatever it is that makes peoples legs restless and twitchy.  But my husband is not so fortunate.  It annoys him and it annoys me.  Nothing fun about a twitchy annoyed person laying next to you when you're trying to sleep.  It seems to always kick in when it's most inconvenient.  Like at the movie theater. 😬 His usual go to in the past was a common over the counter pain reliever.  Why those seemed to work for him is beyond me.  Though it wasn't always 100%, it was usually at least just enough to ignore it.  Enter Serenity. I've always been a big fan of the oil Serenity.  It has such a peaceful scent.  I keep a small spray bottle by my bed with a mix of several drops of Serenity oil with water and use it to spritz myself and my bedding before bedtime.  It seriously helps relax the mind.  Now enough about me.. back to my husband.  Knowing how much I already loved Serenity oil, when doTERRA released this blend in a softgel, I was excited to try it!  I don't have any problem sleeping, but I thought it would be good to have on hand.  Boy was I onto something!  One night when my husband and I were trying to enjoy a movie at home and his legs started to get all creepy crawly, I reached for my Serenity softgels.  Gave him 2 softgels, and within about 20 minutes he noticed a difference.  No more twitchy legs for this guy!  (are your legs crawling yet with all this talk about twitchy legs? haha)  I love that he can now use something natural to calm those annoying leg fits. And they'll help him relax when it's time to sleep so it's like double or triple the benefits!  My personal experience with this is it does not make you feel drowsy.  But there is a noticeable relaxing sensation you get using this.  So if you're sitting on the couch watching TV or laying in bed reading a book, you might notice this relaxing sensation too, but it's not going to make you nod off.  If you don't have the softgels, I've also used a blend of lavender and marjoram in a veggie capsule to help relax those man legs of his.

Get Rid of the Crud and Grime

On Guard Cleaner Concentrate is 10% off this month!  I love, love this stuff!  It cleans everything.  Cleans up the crud and grime with ease.  Think about the hud on your stovetop.  Spray it down and let it sit a minute or two, and wipe.  Or a crusty cupcake pan that's now been sitting for days cause I'm too lazy to clean it right away.  I've used this stuff to clean bathtubs, sinks, mirrors, and my laminate floors (to name a few).  Uses are endless.  I love that it cleans and disinfects, but best of all, it's non-toxic and biodegradable!!

For Life's Little Owies

I like to think of this little tube of goodness as the owie fixer upper.  Anything I would have reached for neosporin for in the past has now been replaced by this....cuts, scrapes, burns, etc.  But it's uses don't stop there.  My husband recently had a fever blister show up on his lip.  He was out of his usual ointment so I handed him the Correct-X.  Not only did it stop it in it's track and clear it up faster than his old crap, but it also didn't dry it out and create the crusty cornflake lip other ointments are known for.  Which in my opinion is the best part.
